Instructional Soccer
OBGC Instructional & Developmental Soccer Programs

Age Groups

·          The Instructional Program is open to boys and girls Pre-K 
(must be 4 by April 1, 2013) through kindergarten.

·          The Developmental Program is open to boys and girls in the 
first or second grades.


Instructional Soccer

·          The Instructional Program emphasizes basic soccer skills - 
dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting and good sportsmanship in a 
fun environment.   Teams are co-ed and players are placed in groups 
of 10-12 per team.

·          There is no grading or tryouts for Instructional Soccer, 
nor is there any preseason or postseason play.

Schedule and Location

·          Instructional Soccer sessions will run on Saturdays and 
begin Saturday April 6th.   All sessions will take place on OBGC Park Field  #4.  
The sessions will follow this schedule:  Pre-K – 9:30a.m.,  Kindergarten – 11:00am.

·          Coaches will notify players with team information before 
Opening Day.

·          Please arrive at least 15 minutes early on Opening Day to 
locate your team and field space information.  Volunteers will be 
available to help.

Fee

·          The Instructional fee is $80.

Equipment

·          Required: Each player must wear shin guards and bring a #3 
ball and water to each session.


·          Uniforms: OBGC provides team shirts.  Coaches will 
distribute shirts at the first session.


Volunteers

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED!  Please consider volunteering your time in any 
of the following areas:

General Volunteers:
·          Field Take-down Volunteer – Saturdays, 12:00-12:30pm
·          Volunteer Coordinators – variable times (please inquire 
with Instructional Coordinator listed below)

Please register on www.OBGC.COM as a GENERAL VOLUNTEER, and then choose 
the position of your choice.

COACHES

We are always looking for more coaches!  If you enjoy working with 
(playing with!) children, please consider volunteering.  OBGC will be 
providing pre-season coach training TBD at OBGC Park Field #3.

  Our coaches are the backbone to the OBGC’s programs. Their attitude 
and approach are what makes the difference in a child’s experience!  
If you are interested in coaching please contact soccer@obgc.com 

  All head and assistant coaches are required to pass a mandatory 
background check, attend a clinic that is hosted by our OBGC Soccer 
program and attend NYSCA training in order for them to qualify for 
the Club’s liability coverage.
