The Olney Boys and Girls Community Sports Association, Inc. (OBGC), has a great concern about the safety and abuse of children.  In recognition of the increasing incidence of crimes against children, which have been perpetrated by coaching volunteers and or staff of other organizations to which the victims have belonged, OBGC deems it necessary and advisable, as a mater of policy, to employ a firm system to help prevent these problems for occurring in our Club and reserve the right to disqualify and prohibit from coaching or from other volunteer or staff positions, persons who have ever been charged with or convicted of a crime of moral turpitude, violence, a crime against persons or any other offense deemed inappropriate in the judgment of OBGC.  The right to disqualify will be based largely upon a prior history of criminal conduct regardless of whether, (a) the criminal charges were subsequently dropped and the applicant was never prosecuted for the crime charged, (b) the criminal charges resulted in a non-conviction such as probation or deferred adjudication, or (c) the criminal conviction was subsequently expunged from the applicant’s record as the result of appropriate legal proceedings.
