Girls Lacrosse
OBGC Girls Lacrosse program offers lacrosse for novice and experienced players in the following age brackets
1st/2nd grade - instructional
3rd/4th grade - instructional/competitive
5th/6th grade - competitive
7th/8th grade - competitive
OBGC competes in the MetroLax League with other teams from Montgomery County, including Rockville, Damascus, Bethesda, Montgomery Village and others. Games will be played on Sundays begining 4/11. Tentative game locations are as follows:
3rd/4th grade teams - Holy Cross
5th/6th grade teams - Forest Oak Middle School
7th/8th grade teams - Farquhar Middle School
Grading: If more than one team is formed in the 5th/6th or 7th/8th age groups, OBGC coaches will determine which players will play on the MetroLax “A” and "B" teams based on grading conducted during the first few practices. Weather permitting; we intend to have our first group practice/tryout on Saturday March 13th. Information is communicated via email. Please be sure to include your correct email address on your registration form.
Equipment and Uniforms: OBGC provides uniforms and specialized goalie gear. All other personal equipment is the responsibility of the player. Girls must have eye gear, lacrosse stick, mouth-guard and field shoes. Please arrive at the first practice with all of your equipment.
Practices: Practices will be held 1-2 times a week. Practice fields and times will be determined once the permitting process has been completed. Additional practices may be held during weekend periods. Please bring water to every practice and be sure to take your trash with you when you leave.

Coaches: OBGC relies on volunteers to coach our sports programs. If we do not get enough volunteers, we cannot run our programs. OBGC provides NYSCA (National Youth Sports Coaches Alliance) certification training and other lacrosse clinis are available. Lacrosse experience is not necessary.

Fall 2009
OBGC's Fall girls lacrosse program is designed to keep girls with some previous experience involved with lacrosse during the off season. It is much more low-key with just one brief practice followed by a scrimmage on Sundays. There will be two divisions: Girls grades 5th& 6th, and grades 7th & 8th.
