Amanda Wedekind started playing lacrosse at the age of 5. To get as
much experience as possible, she would travel to play for club teams
in Maryland and the surrounding states as a middle-schooler in the
high school divisions (CCLax, Ultimate Goal, Stars and Stripes). In
high school she became team captain her freshman year and played
varsity all four years. Amanda played for Mt. Hebron High School,
known for the #1 girls’ varsity lacrosse team in the country, during
her time there. She was named to the All-Howard County First Team as a
sophomore, the only underclassman to do so … Was selected to the Under
Armour All American team her freshman year… was invited to US Lacrosse
tryouts as a freshman.. Led the team in goals and groundballs as a
freshman and a sophomore … Named All-Galaxy in 2008 and 2009 … Member
of the basketball, soccer and volleyball teams in high school. Between
2007 and 2009 she endured 4 ACL reconstructions, taking her out of her
junior and senior seasons, yet she was still blessed to receive a
scholarship to play for a top 5, division 1 program at the University
of Florida. The Gators’ 2009–2010 recruiting class was ranked best in
the nation. She graduated from UF in 2013 with a degree in Applied
Physiology and Kinesiology. As a coach, she was the Director of
Coaching for Pipeline Lacrosse in Gainesville, Florida before her move
to Atlanta. She gave 20-30 lessons a week to boys and girls of all
ages, helping her players reach their potential in skill, physical
performance, and CONFIDENCE. Many of those athletes are currently in
the recruiting process and have received scholarships to play in
college. She owns BarefootBlonde Lacrosse, a company where her and
her brother travel the states to hold lacrosse clinics and lessons.

The House/Intramural program is for beginner and intermediate youth wrestlers. The Olney Outlaw teams participate in the Damascus Sports Association Wrestling League (DSAWL). Intramural wrestlers compete in weight classes determined by an age/weight table. Matches are weekly on Saturday’s beginning in December and run through the beginning of February. The season begins with a round-robin style tournament based on weight class. The season ends with a league tournament with matches determined by each wrestler’s season record. This tournament can qualify your wrestler for the Mid-MD tournament (middle of March) which brings together other Maryland wrestling programs. Coaches will determine at the team level if they will participate in additional area wrestling tournaments throughout the season.

We are limited to twenty-seven (27) wrestlers per team so the first fifty-four (54) wrestlers who apply will be given priority consideration. A waiting list will be maintained if more registrations are received. We will do our best to honor team preferences, while also ensuring each wrestler an appropriate practice partner.

If you would like to help volunteer as a practice room coach assistant, please reach out to the Intramural wrestling Commissioner – Nicole Bouquet at bouquetn@gmail.com
