The OBGC House Basketball program provides a forum for boys and girls to play organized basketball with the aim of teaching sound basketball fundamentals and good sportsmanship and, above all else, having a good time. The program, which is open to youngsters from grades two through twelve, consists of a boys’ league and a girls’ league. The K/1st grade clinic will be run by Tim Harwood from Harwood Basketball and will be fairly limited so enroll early to guarantee a spot.
The boys’ league offers options from K-12th grade: As we did last season we will attempt to separate Pee-Wee and Midget boys into individual grades i.e separating 4th and 5th and 6th and 7th. If the numbers do not work we will combine 4th and 5th in a pee-wee group and 6th and 7th in a midget group.
Clinic- Boys and Girls K and 1st
Instructional Boys – Grades 2 and 3
Pee-Wee – Grades 4 and 5
Midgets – Grades 6 and 7

The House/Intramural program is for beginner and intermediate youth wrestlers. The Olney Outlaw teams participate in the Damascus Sports Association Wrestling League (DSAWL). Intramural wrestlers compete in weight classes determined by an age/weight table. Matches are weekly on Saturday’s beginning in December and run through February. The season begins with a round-robin style tournament based on weight class called MatBash. The season ends with a league tournament with matches determined by each wrestler’s season record. This tournament can qualify your wrestler for the Mid-MD tournament (middle of March) which brings together other Maryland wrestling programs. Coaches will determine at the team level if they will participate in additional area wrestling tournaments throughout the season.
We are limited to twenty-two (22) wrestlers per team and will have three teams for the 2017-2018 season. A waiting list will be maintained if more registrations are received. We will do our best to honor team preferences, while also ensuring each wrestler an appropriate practice partner.
If you would like to help volunteer as a practice room coach assistant, please reach out to the Intramural wrestling Commissioner – Nicole Bouquet at email@example.com. All participants must be at least 6 years and no older than 14 years as of December 31, 2017. Cost is $125 and the season starts early November. Coaches will reach out to confirm practice start dates and times and locations. Please note that signing up for this program is a commitment to participating in both practices and weekly matches.

OBGC Travel Baseball
OBGC has one of the most successful travel baseball programs in the state of Maryland. We offer a variety of opportunities for players in age groups U8 through U14. Our teams are highly competitive and successful locally, regionally and in some cases nationally.
: Travel teams generally practice twice per week and play games in season on no less than two days per week (generally a weekday and a weekend day). In most cases games are played within a 30-45 minute travel distance from Olney. The younger age groups play a large majority of their games at Olney Manor Regional Park. Travel baseball is extremely competitive and there is no guaranteed playing time. However, most coaches make every effort to play all of the players on their roster in each and every game. All-Star players play house baseball twice per week (Monday –Saturday) and come together as a team to compete in travel ball on Sundays.
: Travel baseball players play their games principally at Regional Baseball Fields and Parks throughout Montgomery County. Travel teams may also play some small number of their games at OBGC’s Community Park. Teams competing in the MMTA play home games in Olney or, if away, at the host team’s field (generally within a 30-45 driving distance from Olney). Practices are held at local ball fields in the Olney area.
: Our travel program is built on our ability to teach our children and we are always looking for exceptional baseball coaches at the youngest age group (U8). All head and assistant coaches are required to pass a background check, attend a mandatory baseball clinic that is hosted by our OBGC Baseball program and attend NYSCA training in order for them to qualify for the Club’s liability coverage. Travel players receive exceptional coaching and training.
: Post-season playoff play is based on the individual teams’ regular season performance/record and is not guaranteed. Our travel teams play in various invitational/pay to play tournaments at the discretion of the individual team coach/manager. Most tournaments are played pre-season, Memorial Day and at the completion of the spring season/league playoffs (i.e. throughout the summer)
