Olney Boys Lacrosse

We are excited to announce the opening of 2019 Lacrosse season and several opportunities throughout the season to enhance the experience for OBGC players and families. We look forward to another great year and hope you will take a minute now to register for the 2019 season. We will do our best to accommodate all who want to play but may need to limit the number of players once maximum team sizes are reached, so please register early. Important note - lacrosse registration will close on February 22nd 2019 after which players will only be accepted as roster spots on specific teams are available.

Junior Boys- 14U (7th and 8th grade)  Instructional Competitive A & B Teams

Registration Deadline: 22 February 2019

The age brackets for 2019 are in alignment with US Lacrosse recommendations for boy's youth lacrosse. Coaches will be responsible for validation of birthdates, and will be required to present opposing teams with rosters prior to each game.

Grading Sessions: If more than one team is formed in the Junior, Midget or Peewee age groups, OBGC coaches will grade and place players on teams based on skill.  Our goal, first and foremost, is to place boys on teams where they will have the best experience, learn the most and have optimal playing time. Weather permitting; we intend to have our first group grading session on Sunday, February 24, 2019. Detailed information will be communicated via email as the date nears. Please be sure to include your correct email address on your registration form and to check your email regularly throughout the day.

Equipment: OBGC provides uniforms and specialized goalie gear. All other personal equipment is the responsibility of the player. Boys require helmet, shoulder and arm pads, groin protection, gloves, lacrosse stick, mouth-guard and field shoes. Rib pads are recommended but not required.  Please arrive at the first practice with all of your equipment.

Practices: Practices will be held 2-3 times a week. Practice fields and times will be determined once the permitting process has been completed. Additional practices may be held during weekend periods. Please bring water to every practice and be sure to take your trash with you when you leave.

Games: A complete game schedule will be provided as soon as the schedule has been set. 8U-14U games will be played on Saturdays. Towards the end of the regular season 12U and 14U will have at least one mid-week game scheduled. New this season will be a two part championship/end of season tournament. 8U and 10UB will play on 5/18-5/19; 10UA-14U will play on 6/1; 6/2.
