6/16/19 OBGC 2001 boys qualify for national championships
The U-18 Rangers (see photo above left) traveled to Dallas and won a one-game playoff 2-0 against a California team to win their National League division achieve automatic qualification for the national championships next month in Overland Park, Kansas.
6/9/19 OBGC Boys win State Cup
The 2001 Rangers Blue team won its fourth consecutive Maryland State Cup with a thrilling 3-2 overtime win over Bethesda on June 8 at Laytonia Park.The team now advances to the regional playoffs. Coached by Pete Wood, the team reached the national finals last season.
6/7/19 OBGC Flash U-15 Girls Win NCSL and EDP Division Titles
The OBGC Flash U-15 Girls wrapped up a successful year by winning the EDP Premier IV Division title this Spring. This follows a Fall Season where the Flash went undefeated in winning the NCSL Division 1 title. Congrats to the team! See team photo

4/17/19 State Cup results: U-15 boys win first round match
The boys 2004 Rangers Blue team defeated Bethesda Green 6-0 to advance to the U-15 quarterfinals on May 4-5 in Salisbury, MD.

1/1/19 OBGC Rangers Blue 2001 continues winning ways at National League playoffs
The 2001 Rangers Blue team remains top of its group after league play held in Orlando, FL in late December. OBGC is 3-1-1 after five league matches including a 1-0 win over the defending national champion team from Tampa. See the results.
12/5/18 OBGC Rangers Blue 2001 team begins National League playoffs
The 2001 Rangers will play seven games in December as part of the USYS National League. The first four matches are Dec. 6-9 in Greensboro, NC and the last three matches are in Orlando, FL from Dec. 28-31. The team, coached by Pete Wood, reached the national championships last summer. 11/19/18 Several OBGC players selected for County All Star Game
Several OBGC players were selected to play in the 2018 Montgomery County Senior All Star game played on November 19 at Richard Montgomery High School. Participants included Brendan Henry (Kennedy), Chris Rindov (Rockville), Justin Wong (Sherwood), Thomas Markey (Northwest), Thomas Young (Churchill), Nathan Messer (Bethesda-Chevy Chase), Ivan and Diego Meza (Magruder) and Alex Henning (Gaithersburg). 11/1/18 Three OBGC teams place first in NCSL Fall season
Two boys and one girls team placed first in their respective divisions this season. The boys Rangers Blue U-12 and U-14 teams and the girls U-15 Flash team all were unbeaten.

7/6/18 OBGC U-17 Rangers Head to Nationals in Frisco, TX
It came down the final moments of the 17U Boys final to decide a winner, as OBGC Rangers Blue 2001 (MD) edged Wall Elite Cosmos (NJ), 1-0. The game flowed back and forth, but neither side managed to break through as the clock neared 90 minutes. With just two minutes to go in regulation, Ryan Elie turned and shot from the top of the box and watched the ball bend just inside the right post to give OBGC a 1-0 lead. The New Jersey side pushed numbers forward and played a couple balls into the box, but OBGC cleared the danger to hold on for the shutout victory.
The rangers record was played 3 won 3, scoring 14 conceding 3 in group play.
In the semi final they beat Future Player academy eastern Pa state champions 6-1.

6/4/18 Rangers Blue boys win U-17 State Cup
The 2001 Rangers Blue boys team won its second consecutive Maryland State Cup with a 2-1 win over Baltimore Celtic on June 3 at the Maryland Soccerplex. The team advances to the USYS Regional Championships later this month. The team is coached by Pete Wood.
6/3/18 OBGC U-11 Rangers win NCSL Division 3 and Potomac Memorial tournament
The 2007 Rangers Blue boys team placed first in NCSL Division 3. The team also won all five of its matches at the Potomac tournament over Memorial Day weekend. The team is coachd by Gavin Dodd.
6/1/18 OBGC 2001 Rangers Blue boys team advances to State Cup final
The OBGC Rangers U-17 team will play in the Maryland State Cup final on June 3 at 4:00 p.m. at the Maryland Soccerplex Stadium Field. The team won the State Cup title last year.

5/13/18 Rangers U-17 win regional title
The 2001 Rangers Blue boys team won the US Youth Soccer Eastern Regional League title. The regional championships will be held June 29-July 3 in Spotsylvania, VA. Regional winners advance to the national championships July 23-29 in Frisco, Texas.
5/12/18 Boys U-9 tryout dates announced
For boys players born in 2010 or after please contact coach Darren Beesley at firstname.lastname@example.org for tryout information. The first tryout dates are May 17 at 5:00 p.m. and May 19 at 1:00 p.m. Both sessions are one hour and will be at Cashell Elementary School.
