Age groups: 5-14 years old – cannot turn 15 years old during the football season. OBGC has a Pit Bull division for 5-6 year olds (must turn 5 and be no older than 6 by 7/31/21). This is the youngest tackle football division in the Carroll County Youth Football Cheer League (CCYFCL).
Tackle Football practice will begin the last week of July and will be held initially at OBGC and then starting the middle of August at Rosa Parks Middle School. When practicing at Rosa Parks Middle School, everyone will park at OBGC by the baseball field pavilion and walk through the paths to the Rosa Parks fields. Remember to bring plenty of water! Summer practices are extremely important and essential to your child’s development in the program. They need to be there; practices are typically 4-5 days a week for the first three weeks. For the week of August 19th, practices are cut back to 2 nights per week. The first regular season game will be August 24th. Games are played on Saturdays at OBGC Freeman Field, or the opponent’s field as determined by the schedule. Please note there is a mandatory CCYFCL League Bye Week on Labor Day Weekend.
All teams have a Head Coach, several assistant coaches and a Team Administrator. While they are volunteers, all coaches are required to attend NYSCA / USA Heads Up Football training programs (available through the club online), submit to a background check and keep abreast of age and sport specific coaching techniques. If you are interested in coaching football for OBGC, please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org stating the age group you would like to coach and your qualifications. You MUST register as a volunteer coach into the OBGC database.
OBGC Needs Volunteers for Chain Gang Staff and spotters, if you are interested in volunteering please email email@example.com.
Uniforms, pads, helmets and one (1) mouthpiece are provided by OBGC. Players are required to wear an athletic supporter/cup and have approved non-metal tipped football cleats.

Please bring a check made payable to OBGC in the amount of $100 as a deposit for the equipment. This check will not be cashed, but returned when the equipment is turned back in at the end of the season.
OBGC REQUIRED FORMS:
• MVA issued identification card – obtained with a certified birth certificate and Social Security Card through any MVA office (including MVA Express). These are required at the official weigh-in and at each game.
• Medical Form – see Medical Form on OBGC website.
• Physical must be valid as of 1/1/21
• Parent & Player Code of Conduct Form – Form handed out by team administrator. Must be signed for the child to participate. There is a Zero-Tolerance Policy in effect for any violations of the Code of Conduct on the part of any parent or player.
Please plan ahead to arrange to have your child’s ID and physical prior to August 1st. It is sometimes difficult to get these during the summer! Once your child has been placed on a team, all paperwork can be handed in to the Team Administrator.
